Calculate Effective Paver Area: (8 + 0.125) in × (4 + 0.125) in = 33.52 sq in ÷ 144 = 0.2327 sq ft.
Compute Net Pavers: 300 sq ft ÷ 0.2327 sq ft = 1,289 pavers.
Add 10% Cutting Waste: 1,289 × 1.10 = 1,418 pavers.
Calculate Sub-base Gravel: 300 sq ft × (4 ÷ 12) ft × 1.10 = 110 cu ft ÷ 27 = 4.07 cubic yards (5.70 Tons).

Paver Material & Base Volume Formula
Total Pavers = ⌈(Project Area ÷ Single Paver Area) × (1 + Waste %)⌉ Project area is calculated according to the chosen geometry. Single paver area includes the joint spacing allowance on all sides. Dividing project area by the effective paver area gives the net paver count. A cutting waste allowance (typically 10% for running bond, 12-15% for herringbone or curved edges) is added to account for border cuts and perimeter trimming.
