Paintable Wall Surface Formula
Paintable Area = [2 × (Length + Width) × Height] - (Doors × Door Area) - (Windows × Window Area) Room perimeter is calculated by adding length and width and multiplying by 2. Multiplying perimeter by ceiling height yields gross wall area. Deductions for doors (default 21 sq ft / 1.95 m²) and windows (default 15 sq ft / 1.40 m²) are subtracted from gross wall area to obtain net paintable wall surface.
